Hi, When I click the "listen to Instructor" button I don't hear anything also no instructor voice in FS2004 or FSX.
Running Vista Home Premium, Pentium Dual Core 1.66Ghz 2Gb Ram, FSUIPC 4.
Any suggestions.

| Des: Welcome to the FSFS forum! I am sure we can get you up and running.  This issue 'sounds'  (forgive the pun) a lot like:
"Small teething issue - no voices - any tips?"

USB Headphones OR
WinAmp being the default WAV player OR
Skype being active
Please read that forum post and see if it rings any bells - then let me know. You might try testing by disabling any uncommon components or configurations which relate to sound. This is all quite easy to test as it is likely you don't need to involve FSX or FS2004 at all. You can just launch FSFS and press the 'Listen to Instructor' button at the Aircraft Page. Please let us know how you get on.

Hi,
I'm stuck, I run FS2004 and FSX on my laptop, It has a Realtek HD Audio Controller.
It has 2 options for audio output, Speakers or Digital Output, if I have speakers as my default I have no instructor voice and all sounds in FS, if I use digital output as my default I can hear the instructor voice but no other sounds in FS  . I've tried tweaking settings but have hit a brick wall.
If anyone has any suggestions I would be grateful.

| Des: This is most unusual. I am not aware of a single installation which was not able to successfully configure the sound to hear both FS and FSFS at the same time. We will continue to look at this for you and I would certainly appreciate any feedback we can get from other users who may have their own theories on what may be causing the issue here.
