The instructor persists in yelling every few seconds "Lets have the fusepump off" - at least that's what it sounds like! I'm sure he's referring to the fuel pump, but turning it off has no effect whatsoever.

Hi there - Can you tell us: 1. Which version of FS? 2. Which aircraft - the exact name of the aircraft folder and the software company who made it, if not Microsoft. 3. What method are you using to turn the pump on and off - mouse or keys? Which keys (if applicable)? 4. Are you using the 2D or 3D cockpit? 5. When you turn the fuel pump on - can you hear it running?

Hi I was using Chuck Grime's panel, but I reverted back to the default Cessna and its fine. I'll stick to the default 172 for the moment. It seems to be a popular panel and the fact that there have been few updates means that it has stood the test of time. Chuck's panel is great but I find that the instruments are small and I cannot read the figures clearly. I can see the value of having a good, clear panel with pop-ups rather than have everything on the one screen. So, for the moment then, lets leave it. Thanks and happy weekend flying. Stan

Stan: Splendid - at least we know what the difference was - we've never experienced such a problem in testing, including 3rd party Cessnas. Good to know you're enjoying your flights again!

That's funny, I recently (two weeks ago) bought FS flying school and tried it out today, experiencing the same call from the instructor.
I am using X-plane 10 on W7 and flying the standard Cessna 172. I updated both versions of xplane i am running (1 PC for panel and operations, 1 iMac under OSX 10.7.4 as extra visual) last week.
What do you think could have happened that I get exactly the same problem as someone three years ago?
Kind regards,
Roel Robbers

Hi:
A small number of users have had an issue in a very small number of cases with this. There is a direct way to disable this warning...
...the quickest fix for you is to disable Mr Smith's "Fuel Pump Off" sound file by:
* Find FuelPumpOff.wav (e.g. inside C:\Program Files (x86)\FSFlyingSchoolXPlane\Sound\MrSmith\c172)
* Rename FuelPumpOff.wav to FuelPumpOff-Disabled.wav
Then Mr Smith will quit nagging you about turning the fuel pump off!
If you use the other instructors, you will need to do the same for them (rename the file).
Please let me know how you get on.
