FSFlyingSchool will automatically setup FSUIPC for use with FS2004 or FS2002.

To configure FSX to work with FSFlyingSchool:
- Obtain the latest version of FSUIPC v4, for example “FSUIPC 4.07”. It can be downloaded from:
http://www.schiratti.com/dowson.html
- Run the FSUIPC v4 install program.
- Run FSX. At some point you'll be asked if you wish to run/trust FSUIPC by Pete Dowson. Select "Yes".
- Run FSFlyingSchool. "FSX" will be detected and FSFlyingSchool will start monitoring it.

This video shows the process...

Hi - you enter your codes at the credits page of FSFlyingSchool. You need to install that first and only then install FSUIPC.

Hi!

This is because the Windows Registry is telling FSFS2009 that you have FS2002 and possibly FS2004 installed.

FSFS2009 is trying to set up access to those programs for you by writing the file FSUIPC.DLL into their folders at:

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\FS2002\modules"   (for FS2002)
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\modules"   (for FS2004)

The problem is that those folders most likely do not exist, despite what the PC's registry is saying.

The quickest way to solve the issue is to create those 2 folders if they do not exist (the FS2002 one does not for sure) and then launch FSFS2009 again. (Note the spelling of the folder names must be exactly correct).

Once FSFS2009 has a place to put the FSUIPC.DLL file, FSFS2009 will finish loading.

If you are not familiar or comfortable with the process of creating folders, there are other methods we can pursue - please let us know.

If you have created the folders with the exact spelling given then I can only imagine that Vista security is preventing the files being written.     We can usually solve this by always operating while logged in as an administrator.

If you wish you can manually place the FSUIPC.DLL file into the 2002 and 2004 folders (whichever you created). It is located in the main FSFS folder which is usually...

C:\Program Files\FSFlyingSchool

There is also more information here:

Please let me know how you get on.

Hi Harcore - glad to see you're up and flying with us.

We're a cheerful lot and Ole and the guys are very keen on (informal) competitions when you are ready!

Drop in at the forum from time to time to see what people are chatting about.

It's also a great place to use 'search' to get answers and general information about FSFS.

Maybe I'm playing the idiot but I don'understand how could I follow your instructions when you say:

- Run FSX. At some point you'll be asked if you wish to run/trust FSUIPC by Pete Dowson. Select "Yes".
- Run FSFlyingSchool. "FSX" will be detected and FSFlyingSchool will start monitoring it.

because when I open the FSX, it covers the desktop and unable me to reach the FlyingSchool key to start it.

Could you please help? Thks

Dear Squadron Leader,

I am sorry to say that I tried for several times, follow all the steps you mention and:

- the FSuipc4 has been accepted by my FSX and is installed there on the "addons"

- if I try to run Flying School, it says "No Flight Simulator Found", therefore, does not open or recognize FSX;

- if I try to run Flying School with FSX main frame open in order to have access to Flying School icon, it shows a label saying "runtime error 6 Overflow"

- if I follow your suggestion of running FSX first, placing a plane on the runway to get the connection to Flying School, anytime I try to start the program, the same runtime error shows and I remain without the possibility of ising it!!!!!

To be frank I feel completely frustrated and would very much appreciate some help from anyone who knows a way to solve the problem

Best regards

Rui Andrade
