Hello,

Does anyone know how this works? How can I have a 100% ILS approach, and 90% runway alignment, yet get a problem with my approach?? What am I missing and/or doing wrong? I have this same problem on EVERY landing.

FSFlyingSchool Pro 2019 (January 27 2019)
Using: P3D v4.5

Landing Score:26.30

Landing was successful in the following areas:
* Good glideslope on ILS approach. [100%]
* Good alignment with runway on ILS approach. [90%]

* Gentle touchdown. [108 FPM]
* Good landing speed - not too fast. [56 KIAS]
* Wings were level.
* Glideslope held until flare.
* Good pitch control after touchdown.
* Good pitch at landing. [3 degrees]
* With flaps - good job. [25 degrees]
* Heading aligned with runway.
* Throttle(s) idle.
* Good controlled final descent to touchdown.
* Good steering after landing.

Landing included the following problems:
* Distance from runway threshold (visual approach): [1256 feet] (excessive)
* Landed without a proper approach OR off runway surface.

Couldn't find a definite solution or explanation in the forums. Maybe I wasn't paying attention, but I don't remember having this issue in previous versions.

Thanks for any advice, maybe it's a known issue I'm unaware of.
R

Hi gfxdsnr427:

Glad to help.

1. Can you tell me

"Distance from runway threshold (visual approach): [1256 feet] (excessive)"

is this accurate?

2. Did you land on the runway?

3. Is the runway an add-on?

4. Was the NAV1 radio tuned to the ILS for that runway?

5. What is the runway and airfield?

6. What is the aircraft and publisher?

7. When did you change from the earlier versions which did not exhibit this issue to this one?

8. Have you generated runway data for this version of FSFlyingSchool?

Thanks for trying to find the issue. Maybe it's just my landing and it's by design, but I need to find out what to change in my landing or settings to get back to better landing scores.

"Distance from runway threshold (visual approach): [1256 feet] (excessive)" is this accurate? Probably, it doesn't always say it but I can't seem to get close to the numbers, when I try, I'm always told "You're descending too fast!"...but I'm on the glide slope so, maybe I'm too fast (around 70-75kts).

2. Did you land on the runway? Yes, on center line (or very near).

3. Is the runway an add-on? No KLVK, but it doesn't matter, does it on both.

4. Was the NAV1 radio tuned to the ILS for that runway? Yes, Instructor even says it's tuned for the correct runway.

5. What is the runway and airfield? Runway

6. What is the aircraft and publisher? It comes with P3D v4.5 but I think it's actually Carenado's AC11 Commander. It does it will all planes (that I fly at least).

7. When did you change from the earlier versions which did not exhibit this issue to this one? I can't remember. I just upgraded to 19 but I honestly don't recall if I noticed this before. I do know I received better landing scores in past years, but now it seems I can't get above 29.

8. Have you generated runway data for this version of FSFlyingSchool? Yes (I was really hoping this was it since I hadn't but I did it and confirmed it still saying "Landed without a proper approach OR off runway surface."

Also when just tried with the Commander, the instructor kept saying "Let's raise the gear!" all the way down to the ground.... I know I was in landing mode, so that was weird.

Thanks!
Ron

I think I can see the issue.

If the instructor is telling you to raise the gear, you are not in landing mode. If you are - he/she will not say this.

If you land without indicating landing mode to the instructor - a great number of things will not get evaluated correctly.

Please try again and make sure landing mode is active - you will know this as the instructor will say where you are landing as you pass through 500 AGL, AND will not tell you to get your gear up.
